The Warrior Victorious Terrilian Book 5 eBook Sharon Green Reviews
Great story
Loved it
This book I have read as many as ten times now still one of my favorites. Hope you who are looking for a book try it. This book is the best of the series I think.
The book is as good as I remember, I loved rereading it. The low rating isn't for that, but there wer odd formatting errors... Through the book the wrong words are used for things, like someone had done the typography from a hard copy and has misstyped the word, rather than that being an error of the author's. However, an odd error at the end bothered me the most.
After what I would have expected to be then ending, "Beloved, barbian. He did."
Then there's a paragraph after that which starts with an icomplete sentence "arrogance, and I'd long since had more of it than anyone might be expected to want."
The section going from there through to the end looks like it was taken from an earlier part of the book. (Loc 6504 of 6535). It was almost like someone had accidentally copied that part out of an earlier part of the book and pasted it into the ending. It was odd and annoying end to the book.
This keeps showing up so I decided to finally write a review of it and get it over with. I read the book, in fact, I read the entire series twice thinking I must have missed something. I cannot imagine who this series appeals to. It is well written but, the story line is so far fetched and disgusting, I will not read anymore Sharon Green books.
I found this under erotic romance. I found it neither erotic, nor romantic in any way. It is really a journey into slavery and forced female submission that boggles the mind. The series upset me very much. There is a lot of rape. And the heroine converses with her rapists after they rape her, just like nothing ever happened. If a woman has been violated by rape, even if the rapists were supposedly her friends, I just don't see her getting up and continuing the relationship like the rape never happened. I found the attitude of the heroine towards those who had raped her impossible to believe. Trust me, we women can hold a grudge, and she had great reason to hold a grudge, yet we never see her rise up to defend herself.
It is unclear to me why the heroine falls in love with the alpha male in this series. In fact, I saw no romance in it. Lots of lust and rape and humiliation and mistrust, but no love. The alpha male discounts the heroine at almost every turn. Honestly, at the end of this series, there was not a single solitary male for whom I had any respect.
And all the women except one are portrayed as extremely nasty to each other. Yes, I know we women can be very nasty to each other but in this series, every woman with the exception of a mother starts out being horrible to the heroine.
If you're looking for erotic romance, skip this series, it left me depressed and upset.
As with the prior book, I think that there are pieces of the actual novel that have been dropped from my version. For example, at the end of this book, it reads
"Beloved barbarian. He did."
then the next partial sentence is
"arrogance, and I'd long since had more of it than anyone might be expected to want."
That just doesn't make any sense and it makes reading the novel pretty frustrating.
Having said that, there is a lot I did like about this book. Terry really did turn herself from victim to victor and did it on her own. She showed a great deal more strength (the strength to oppose not just her enemies but also Tammad and others close to her) than she has shown in other books. I don't understand at all how she can still have any affection or trust for either Len or Garth. I certainly would not be able to hold any kind of good thoughts to someone who understood the concept of rape and still did it (and enjoyed it) to me...but I'm not Terry.
For his purposes, Tammad also matured and he seemed to understand that Terry was no longer someone he could simply order around and dominate. His empathic abilities appeared to have grown a good bit while Terry was gone and that might have helped as well.
I really liked Irin and Rissim and was delighted to get to see the w'wenda again.
Overall a very good book, although there were still some loose ends I thought, and, as I said, the apparent drop of portions of the novel was extremely frustrating to me.
