The Immense Center is both intellectually and creatively entertaining throughout. Michael Allen Williamson's exploration of higher dimensional existence is captivating to read and leaves you in a state of curious contemplation long after you put it down each night. It was not what I expected and for that I am very grateful.
The immense center is a fantastically imaginative, roller coaster ride of a story. It is also incredibly human and after reading the first chapter, I was hooked. I had to find out what happened! Every time I though I'd figured things out, I got knocked back again by an interesting turn of events. It's a tremendously creative work and you're in for a treat.
Science fiction isn't my usual thing but I decided to give The Immense Center a try. I'm glad I did - the premise drew me in from the start into what is an unusual and original book. It was not what I expected at all, but I enjoyed the author's creative and imaginative approach to describing life in a different dimension. I'm keen to read more from this author.
I've just finished reading this book and while my brain still hurts a bit, it was an experience not to be missed. I believe that each reader will interpret this story in their own unique way and so a normal review of the book would be kind of pointless. Its science fiction on one level and yet something entirely different on another. I found it fascinating, strange and yet at the same time somehow familiar.. For me, the concepts and ideas expressed in it are not that dissimilar to the teachings of well known spiritual leaders in this day and age (but again, that's just the version of the book I read). It will leave you with plenty to think about long after you've finished it and I believe anyone who takes the time to read/experience this book will ultimately be glad that they did so
You look at what is going on the world today and wonder, is everything coming to an end? Are these the last days? As a Christian, I think about this every time I hear a news report. The Immense Center is a fascinating look at possibilities. It will draw you in from page one and keep you engaged until the conclusion. It's a work of fiction with an important takeaway for us all Live each moment to the fullest!
Reading The Immense Center is an immersive experience you just won't be expecting, but one you'll be pleasantly grateful for. Whilst I was initially uncertain as to where the book was going, I found myself intrigued, at times perplexed, but ultimately impressed by the scope and complexity of the concepts expressed and the manner in which they were conveyed. I found the author's use of 'experiences unbounded by time' particularly fascinating (It'll all make sense when you read the book). Whilst there's significant depth and complexity there's also a very human and personal touch to The Immense Center, and there's a reasonable dosage of humor too. This is a book you'll probably spend as much time thinking about as you did reading it, and it's not often that happens.
In some respects, this book kind of reminds me of Herman Hesse’s “Siddartha” in that the protagonist is on a path to self-discovery. It is a book that is an experience. It has time-traveling, religion, and science, with a good dollop of mysticism.
From the moment the protagonist awakens to find a mysterious being in his room, you’re off to other dimensions and other worlds as he is taken on a mission that twists through different times and places. He is brought up against a powerful antagonist and placed in circumstances that would blow anyone’s mind yet he somehow manages to maintain his sanity in his attempts to rise to the challenges.
I must admit that I found it somewhat hard to understand in places, and felt there were a few things that could’ve been made clearer. However, I still found it to be quite an intriguing read and I believe it to be a great book for anyone who loves enigmatic plot twists.
